Freshly Fallen Leaves, A Time For Reflection
by Renaissance Farms on 10/24/19
We had our first chilled night. The expression “fall is in the air” could not have been more true. You can begin to see the changing of colors on the mountainside. Soon there will be hues of orange, red, yellow, and brown. Fall always brings with it a time of reflection. Did we make the most out of those precious few summer days, places we went, things we did, people we met. Have we made the most out of all our days, places we have gone, things we have done, people we have met. A walk down a tree lined country lane. Freshly fallen leaves underfoot. The quite of reflection. The calm of fall cast a spell. It is time to take stock. As Henry David Thoreau said, “I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived”. Our summer was full of new and old friends, great food, incredible hikes, and relaxing by the lake. To all of you who help make this possible. We would like to extend our warmest thanks.
In Memory Of, Thank You, We Miss You
by Renaissance Farms on 05/28/17This holiday weekend is a weekend of remembrance. Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Today is a day we honor Courage. Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is action in the face of fear. This is always a solemn day for me. As a veteran. I think of all the men and women who have served their country and all they sacrificed, their dreams, their youth, their lives. They did this to protect us, to protect the place and the people they love. I am forever grateful. We need to honor our Veterans' ultimate sacrifices by pursuing our dreams in the face of fear.

1. Develop a habit of making time with family and friends a priority .
2. Develop a habit of meditation, ounce a day for 20 minutes.
3. Develop a habit of being aware of negative self talk and simply say, “that is not true”
4. Develop a habit of daily intervals of walking for 5 minutes then running for 5 minutes for a total of 30 minutes.
5. Develop a habit of Grazing as a form of eating.
6. Make a habit of sleeping at least 8 hours a day.
The quality of your life is determined by the habits you choose, good or bad. Many times our greatness is just over the horizon out of sight, though to see it we have to let go of the known and embrace uncertainty, and with it our true path, what we are meant to do, our genius.
